How to minimize the corrosion of vacuum circuit breakers?

2022-04-08

Since vacuum circuit breakers are basically exposed to the air, the occurrence of rust is almost unavoidable, especially for equipment that is outside for a long time. There are many reasons for vacuum circuit breakers to induce rust. , here are a few key reasons:
The root cause of the corrosion of vacuum circuit breakers is due to defects in the material, structural design and manufacturing process of their components, which is also caused by the inability of vacuum circuit breakers to adapt to harsh environments and climatic conditions. Therefore, once rust occurs on the vacuum circuit breaker, the appearance is the second key point, which will reduce the mechanical strength of the transmission parts and affect the electrical performance of the product.
At present, the more popular and feasible solutions to the corrosion of vacuum circuit breakers are:

1. In places where the vacuum circuit breaker is prone to corrosion, try to use materials that are not easy to cause corrosion: for example, use a large number of stainless steel parts and strengthen the circuit breaker. Using stainless steel as a raw material can improve corrosion resistance, but the price of the material is high, and the processing of parts is also difficult. It is not easy to mass-produce. Most of the rolling bearings in the standard parts are made of steel. The disadvantage is that they cannot meet the needs of anti-corrosion. This method is only a temporary solution.
2. Try to keep rust-prone parts in an airtight structure. Now it adopts a gas-tight structure similar to ZW20A, but does not fill with SF6 gas. It adopts a composite insulation form and is filled with clean nitrogen to protect the parts, which is an ideal choice.
